Wraparound Care/ Whizz Kids
Our Before and After School Club, called 'Whizz Kids' provides wraparound care on school premises for children from Nursery to Year 6. Mrs James organises the club and plans lovely activities for the children as well as special events. After years of leading Brownies and working in schools, she is able to create events and activities that children love. She is always keen to listen to the children and plan for their individual needs so if you or your child have an idea then please share it.
The Club opens from 7.45am each morning until the start of school and is available for children from 3.20pm until 6pm (Fridays until 5.30pm). Parents are able to book their child in by completing a booking form, which can be accessed here on the wesbite or by collecting a form from the school office.
The overall theme of the Club is leisure and developing social skills through playing with their peers. Mrs James, with the help of several of other members of staff, works hard to organise interesting activities and games such as: craft activities, traditional games, cooking and much more.
In the morning children can have breakfast if they want it. After breakfast they spend a short time outside before the school day begins at 8.45am.
After school, Whizz Kids begins with a quiet time when children read and catch up with any unfinished homework. This is followed by the children relaxing for a short time by playing games outside and they are encouraged to be active by using the playground trim trails. Later in the evening there are a range of activities that children can participate in. A healthy snack is included if children are staying after 4.20pm.
