Governor Vacancies
There are currently no vacancies for the Local Governing Boady at St Matthias.
Governors play an important role in the leadership of a school. Whilst they are not responsible for the day to day running of the school, they do question and advise school leaders, work with the school to set future priorities and help decide school policy. The Governing Body is made up of a number of different types of Governor with different backgrounds and interests. The term of office for each Governor is 4 years.
Being a Governor can be a very rewarding experience. No special skills are required, just common sense. You will receive full training and support from the other governors and get to play an important part in shaping our school as it moves forward into the future.
The Full Governing Body meets at least once every half term on a Wednesday from 5.30 - 8pm at St. Matthias CE Primary. Governors meetings focus on teaching and learning standards for all pupils, looking at finance and present the resources and other matters such as safeguarding, health and safety.
If you would like to put your own name forward or know of someone who may be interested in working with us at St. Matthias CE Primary School, please contact the school office and ask to speak to the Headteacher. We are happy to hold your information on a waiting list should you wish to be a Governor in the future.
