Mrs Rowe led our assembly today and the topic on everyone's lips was the election.
Mrs Rowe showed us a powerpoint and asked us lots of questions about the countries in the pictures and the names of the leaders of the three main political parties. I was very pleased to find out that between us, we were able to answer all of them.
Have a look at the powerpoint below.
I particularly liked listening to the manifestoes written by Emily, Halle, Charlie and Freya in Year 3.
Here are the some of the things they would introduce if they were the Prime Minister;
Freya—I would make a bigger swimming pool at the Splash. I would improve this school so it was bigger so we would have new pupils.
Halle—I would make school lunchtime from 11.45-12.45pm and for hot dinners it would always be chocolate brownies and ice-cream.
Charlie—I would make a bigger playground to play football.
Emily—I would make people kind. I would give money to people who have no money left. I would be nice and kind. I would listen to people.
Year 4 have been writing election speeches. Do have a read. I think our new Prime Minister might wish to take these ideas into account.
