Welcome back to the start of the Summer Term!
We hope that you all had a fantastic Easter break.
This term our theme is 'We Are Family' which will draw together our learning about our own family history, the Royal family, where we live and we how this compares to other countires. In Science we will be looking at plants. Click on the pdf link below for a full version of our Curriculum Newsletter for this term.
In literacy we have started off the new term by looking at poetry linked to the days of the week. The children are enjoying spotting any rhyming words and are trying very hard to learn how to spell the days of the week correctly - ask them to show you!
Spellings will be given out on a Friday, please do your best to complete them and bring your spelling folder back into school the following Friday in preparation for our spelling test and your new set of spellings. Reading is so important and plays a vital role in helping your child to learn tricky spellings and new vocabulary. Please read as often as you can, we aim for 5 times a week so that we can be entered into the 'weekly draw' to win a book! Homework club takes place for Years 1 & 2 on a Thursday 3:15pm - 4:00pm so please come along if you would like some support.
We will be taking part in PE lessons on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Please make sure you child has got a PE kit in school which is named and has pumps which fit correctly.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! We are looking forward a fun-packed term, hopefully with some sunshine!
