Parking can be a issue before school and at home times.
There seems to be a lot more cars around now, all competing for parking spaces in the roads around the school at key times of the day. It can, I know, be very frustrating if there is nowhere for parents to park when they need to.
St. Matthias will always be committed to keeping our children safe. In addition, it is always our intention to be a good and considerate neighbour to the families who live in the roads around the school.
Therefore, I ask all our parents to help in the following ways;
® Please walk to and from school if this is at all possible
® Please be considerate when parking. DO NOT park on our yellow zig zags or across our neighbours’ driveways
® Please be polite to our neighbours at all times, even if they ask you to move your car
® Try your best to park in Church Road. This really helps ease the congestion in Cromwell Road
® Avoid parking in Hamden Road as it is Access Only and apparently our cars have been parked across or on driveways here and sometimes block the turning circle at the end
® Please do not park on the pavement. This blocks the pavement for our children and parents to walk on.
It would be most appreciated if you could do your part to help us keep the roads around our school safe for our children.
Please read this leaflet from the Pickersleigh Safer Neighbourhood Team which highlights the responsibilities of drivers and the importance of driving and parking safely around our school.
