Welcome to our Nursery Class
Please read our Newsletters to find out what we will be doing this term.
We went for a wonderful walk in Worcester Woods.
We didn't manage to find a "Gruffalo" but we did enjoy the adventure playground.
We really enjoyed learning about how animals grow and change. Children from the nursery class met calves and lambs when they visited Weston's farm. Both the nursery and pre-school children enjoyed a visit by the "Animal Man" with a selection of creatures and we were all very excited when our (borrowed) chickens hatched. After a few days in the incubator, small holes appeared in the eggs. It took a few hours for the chicks to peck their way out of their shells and initially their feathers were wet and they looked really tired. Once they were rested and warm and dry, we were able to hold them very gently. At the end of term, all ten chicks were returned safe and healthy to the chicken farm as planned since by then they were becoming too big to live in a box in the nursery.
The children in both nursery and pre-school have been learning how Chinese New Year is celebrated.
This week we have been thinking how we learn about things around us by exploring and investigating them.
Last week, we were thinking about being imaginative and how good we are at pretending.
