St Matthias

Church of England Primary School

Aspire Believe Achieve

Never a dull moment!

There's always something exciting happening at St. Matthias! Last week our Year 5 children were busy with their Cycling Proficiency, learning how to keep themselves safe on the roads. This week - we are doing our bit for Queen and Country!

To celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday, people all across the nation are being asked to clean up their local community and we will be doing just that! With support from Malvern Hills District Council, each class will be taking their turn to undertake a litter pick in various areas surrounding our school.

To finish the week off, we will celebrate World Earth Day by thinking about how we can reuse, recycle and reduce (the 3 Rs) our waste to help protect not only our local area but also the world as a whole. Each class will participate in different activities and have fun learning about the importance of the 3 Rs. As part of this day, we will be hosting a ‘Book Swop’ when children can bring a book in from home that they have finished reading and no longer want and swop it for a different one. This will reinforce the idea of recycling and, if successful, is something that we could introduce on a regular basis.
